Chemical Talampicillin

Name Talampicillin
CAS Type 1 Name 4-Thia-1-azabicyclo(3.2.0)heptane-2-carboxylic acid, 6-((aminophenylacetyl)amino)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-, 1,3-dihydro-3-oxo-1-isobenzofuranyl ester, (2S-(2alpha,5alpha,6beta(S*)))-
Equivalent Terms Ampicillin, Phthalidyl | BRL8988 | BRL 8988 | BRL-8988 | Hydrochloride, Talampicillin | Phthalidyl Ampicillin | Talampicillin Hydrochloride | Talpen
CAS Registry Number 47747-56-8
Definition An ester of AMPICILLIN which is readily hydrolyzed on absorption to release ampicillin. It is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract resulting in a greater bioavailability of ampicillin than can be achieved with equivalent doses of ampicillin.
Structure Talampicillin
