How do I perform a keyword search?
- Select the type of data to search from the drop-down menu of the keyword search box (located at the top of every page).

To limit your search to official names, use the “name:” prefix.

Number.
- Diseases

Search by MeSH name, synonym, OMIM accession ID (“OMIM:…”), or accession ID
(“MESH:…”).
- Genes

Search by NCBI (Entrez) Gene symbol, name, synonym, or accession ID (“GENE:…”).
To limit your search to official symbols, use the “name:” prefix.
- Gene Ontology

Search by name, synonym, or GO ID (“GO:0008219” or “8219”).
- Organisms

Search by NCBI Taxonomy scientific name, common name, synonym, or accession ID (“TAXON:…”).

- Pathways

Search by KEGG or REACTOME name or accession ID (“KEGG:…” or
“REACT:…”).
- References

Search by author (“lastname initials”), title, abstract, PubMed® ID, or DOI
(Digital Object Identifier).
- Select a term from the drop-down suggestion list to go directly to that term's page.
- Otherwise, click Search for a list of matching results.
If your query did not match any items, try using a shorter keyword or a wildcard, or try an advanced
